The use of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) has expanded over the years, and it has now become an important component in many industrial settings. It has replaced rubber in numerous applications, and of equal prevalence in the construction industry, is the PVC hose.

Features of PVC hose
PVC hose is a hose or tubing made from PVC material. Basically, it is soft, light weight, and incredibly flexible hose made with polyester. It is normally resistant to adverse weather conditions and can be used in temperatures ranging from -5°C to +60°C. The waterproof and corrosion-resistant feature eliminates the need for fire-resistant coatings and also no special precautions are needed during installation.

PVC hose provides good bendability, quiet operation, and exceptional abrasion resistance. It is also very economical and most designs roll up flat for easy storage. The PVC hose also features a smooth finish that ensures excellent flow characteristics. Mostly, it does not pass on any odor or taste and it is also easily cleaned. Some deigns are reinforced with multiple textile spirals therefore well-suited to outdoor service.

Most applications involve the transfer of fluids such as oil, water, lye, and gases such as coal gas and oxygen. PVC hose can also be used in both negative and positive pressure applications such as transfer of chemical solutions, coolant materials and compressed air. It is also used in the food and canned industry and what’s more is that PVC hose can be used at any pressure.

Most of the PVC hoses are usually longitudinally reinforced to minimize elongation under pressure and some are clear braided. For high pressure uses, this type of hose can be reinforced with wire. In addition, PVC hose is very useful in all sorts of plumbing applications. There are many other uses of PVC hose including but not limited to, fluid and water handling, hydraulics handling and crop spraying. Most PVC hoses usually come with groove and cam, thread, flange and other fittings to facilitate installation.
